The brains behind this is Christian Epps; a lighting designer whose career has spanned more than three decades, covering everything from major motion pictures and broadcast television, to live theater, commercials, music videos and special events. He has been commissioned to work with such global powerhouses as Nike, IBM, Sprite, McDonald’s, Buena Vista Television, GE Capitol, Home Depot, and Panasonic etc. Christian is also honored that his work has been showcased in legendary venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kodak Theater, the Kennedy Center, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Apollo Theatre and the White House. Christian’s work has been seen across the United States as well as eight countries and three continents.

It was such a treat that on the 17th of January 2017, he was in Lagos to give an in-depth and hands-on, 3-day session which focused on film lighting techniques in actual studio and location conditions for participants to execute real life lighting setups at Ultima Studios, Lagos, Nigeria. Check out more photos from the event.

The workshop was co-sponsored by ROSCO LABORATORIES, an international film, broadcast and live event equipment manufacturer, with local sponsorship from the most respected stakeholders such as Edi Lawani and Ultima Studios.   This is the first of four workshops scheduled for this year. Others will focus on various technical areas of production such as sound, cameras, live event lighting etc.All workshops will be supported by various international manufacturers, thus contributing positively to the future capabilities of the Nigerian entertainment sector as it grows and expands it’s economic impact in Nigeria, and across Africa and abroad.
ROSCO LABORATORIES, established in 1910, is a leading US-based multi-national manufacturer of LED lighting and many other materials for the industry.

KUKURUKU, INC. is the production arm of Edi Lawani, the most respected production consultant in Nigeria.
